Future carbon emission regulations due to environmentalists’ lobbying pressure may make carbon emissions an even more pressing economic issue for high carbon emitters such as industrial businesses. In a recent ScienceDaily report, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change author Thomas Sterner was quoted proposing to charge carbon emitters 0.15 USD per kg of CO2 emitted to resolve the climate change problem.
